New Theater House (nth) is an ensemble of ten artists formed from collaborations begun at the Yale School of Drama. Our mission is to expand the traditional methods of storytelling and to unmask the forms that will most powerfully communicate the vital stories of our time. Together we are committed to bringing this physical, poetic work to communities across the country.

Patricia McGregor is a Harlem-based director committed to enlivening under-told stories and diversifying the American theatrical cannon. Meaningful perspectives on the black experience are at the center of our work. Infusing productions with music, movement, and poetry, we aim to create viscerally electric, emotionally provocative and politically relevant work. These productions provide a space for diverse communities to exchange meaningful dialog. We believe in the power of theatrical transformations and simple magic.

The only common element in this rapidly expanding and diversifying body of work is the brilliance of my collaborators. The costume shops at Yale and Temple manage to couple ingenuity with profound knowledge and skill. Kevin Daniels' deeply touching one-man pieces and Alexandra Henrikson's wildly imagined projects are all born of pressing desires to understand this world and are among the most satisfying theatrical experiences around. Devin Brain's simultaneously meticulous and chaotic process produces phenomenally rich and entertaining theater. Playwright Matthew Moses should be followed to the ends of the earth.
